Summer is a great time to beta test a new visibility feature for your business: the Micro Event. These can be done in person at your business location, or virtually. Today, we’re focusing on virtual events, as they give you maximum flexiblity without the cost of providing refreshments for attendees.
What You Need:
- A Zoom account or Google Meet
- List of prospective attendees
- Topic
Our online micro-event should be on a single topic:
- New trends (for job seekers, landscape features, etc)
- An Ask The Expert Q&A
- Single new feature or service you want to introduce
- Your micro event should conclude in less than 1-Hour, including Q&A.
Micro Events allow you to speak directly to a small group of customers or potential customers who are interested in the same topic. You should present information relevant to them for 15 to 20 minutes, and make it interactive with an invitation for Q&A either at the end, or throughout the event. End your micro event with a thank you, and a strong Call To Action so they know what next steps to take with you.
Be sure to follow up after your event!
Why it Works: Submit your event to get listed on local calendars, mention it on social media, and encourage your attendees to share the event on their feeds. This creates a “cluster” of local digital signals that tell AI: “This business is an important part of our community.
